Incentives

One of the most common challenges in starting or growing a business can be finding the necessary capital to accomplish your goal. The NCBDC will work with you to identify sources and help you through the application process.

Our communities are open for business and along with our organization, will work one-on-one with you to make sure your needs are met. In 2015, Levy County adopted two incentives for new and existing business: the Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemptions (EDATE), and Economic Development Fund (EDF). Review the incentives guide and application to see if your business qualifies.

Because Levy County is considered a Rural Area of Opportunity (RAO), other state-offered incentives could be tapped into with less criteria to meet in order to get funding. These credits can add up to thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars to offset overhead and other costs.

Other incentives include a Capital Investment Tax Credit and High Impact Performance grant; these target capital-intensive or high impact industry such as clean energy, biomedical or silicon technology and transportation equipment manufacturing.

We recognize that a company’s success is largely due to its workforce, and through its partners and state programs as well, the NCBDC will work with you to make sure you have the critical workers in place. CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion can assist with worker screening, recruitment and training and other needs that keeps your operating costs lower.

Its Quick Response Training incentive works with regional education institutions to deliver needed employee services to allow your business to expand. Additionally, the Incumbent Worker Training program provides training to already employed workers to keep them competitive and current with skills needs.

From start to finish, the Nature Coast Business Council will work as your guide to ensure the maximum amount of financial and technical assistance will be secured.
